Found at Netflix, and Amazon Prime

Today I will be posting about TV and the shows/ movies/ docu-series that I've had the pleasure to watch the past few months. Hope you enjoy; I look forward to hearing your choices, and sharing our thoughts in the nearby future.




1. The Politician


The Politician is an American comedy-drama web television series created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan and released on Netflix. The trio also serve as executive producers with Alexis Martin Woodall, Ben Platt, and Gwyneth Paltrow. The series centers on the story of Payton Hobart (Platt), a wealthy Santa Barbaran, and every season will revolve around a different political race his character is involved in.


The first season was released on Netflix on September 27, 2019.[1] The series starred Ben Platt, Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Lange, Zoey Deutch, Lucy Boynton, Bob Balaban, Laura Dreyfuss, David Corenswet, Julia Schlaepfer, Theo Germaine, Rahne Jones, and Benjamin Barrett. Production on the second season started in November 2019.




2. Unorthodox


Unorthodox is a German-Americandramaminiseries that debuted on Netflixon March 26, 2020. The series is loosely based on Deborah Feldman's 2012 autobiography Unorthodox: The Scandalous Rejection of My Hasidic Roots. It is the first Netflix series to be primarily in Yiddish.


A 19-year-old Jewish woman named Esty runs away from her arranged marriage and Ultra-Orthodox community in Williamsburg, Brooklyn,New York City. She moves to Berlin, where her estranged mother lives, and tries to navigate a secular life and take classes at a music conservatory. Her husband, who learns that she is pregnant, travels to Berlin with his cousin, by order of their Rabbi, to try to find her.



3. Grace & Frankie


Grace and Frankie is an American comedy web television series created by Marta Kauffman and Howard J. Morris for Netflix. The series stars Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin in the title roles of Grace and Frankie, two unlikely friends who are brought together after their husbands announce that they are in love with each other and plan to get married.


Sam Waterston, Martin Sheen, Brooklyn Decker, Ethan Embry, June Diane Raphael, and Baron Vaughn co-star in supporting roles. It premiered on Netflix on May 8, 2015, with all 13 episodes of the first season released simultaneously. The second through sixth seasons, also consisting of 13 episodes each, were released on May 6, 2016, March 24, 2017, January 19, 2018, January 18, 2019, and January 15, 2020 respectively.


Grace and Frankie received mixed reviews upon its debut, but its second and subsequent seasons have been met with a largely positive reception from television critics. It has received several nominations, including five Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series and a Golden Globe Award nomination for Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy.


On September 4, 2019, the series was renewed for a seventh and final season consisting of 16 episodes, making it the longest-running Netflix original series with 94 episodes.





4. Cher


Cher born Cherilyn Sarkisian; May 20, 1946) is an American singer, actress and television personality.


Commonly referred to by the media as theGoddess of Pop, she has been described as embodying female autonomy in a male-dominated industry. Cher is known for her distinctive contralto singing voice and for having worked in numerous areas of entertainment, as well as adopting a variety of styles and appearances during her six-decade-long career.

5. The Story of God


The Story of God with Morgan Freeman is an American television documentary series that premiered on the National Geographic Channel on April 3, 2016. The series features actor Morgan Freeman who explores various cultures and religions, and their take on religion-related topics, particularly about their belief in a God or a higher power. Freeman previously portrayed God in the films Bruce Almighty and Evan Almighty. The second season began airing on January 16, 2017.


In January 2018, it was announced that the series had been renewed for a third season, which began a year later on March 5, 2019.




6. The Art of Loving


Michalina Anna Wisłocka was a Polish gynecologist, sexologist, and author of Sztuka kochania (verbatim:The Art of Loving, English edition A Practical Guide to Marital Bliss, 1978), the first guide to sexual life in Communist countries. Her book became a bestseller, with a total circulation of 7 million copies, and started greater openness about matters of sex and sex life in Poland.
